Chicago Bears OTAs are in full swing and, under new defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, the defensive side of the ball already looks locked in.

But, this roster still has a need at one particular position: defensive end. And, if Bleacher Report's Moe Moton's idea came to fruition, the Bears could have a perfect rotational pass rusher sitting right before their eyes.

Moton wrote that the Bears should go sign free agent pass rusher Tanoh Kpassagnon.

"While with the New Orleans Saints, Kpassagnon played in Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen's defense between 2021 and 2024," Moton wrote. "He would provide quality depth as a plug-and-play rotational end."

Tanoh Kpassagnon is the perfect low-risk signing for Dennis Allen's defense

Between the 2021-2023 seasons, Kpassagnon totaled 9.5 sacks without ever playing more than 43 percent of defensive snaps on the Saints. While those numbers aren't exactly startling, they represent a healthy floor for a player who could be the Bears' fourth or fifth pass rusher on this team behind Montez Sweat and company.

A second-round pick out of Villanova by the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2017, Kpassagnon never truly fulfilled his draft billing as a high-impact player. But, he's been one of those glue guys who can become an asset in situational football.

He'll offer Allen someone with familiarity of his system and a player who is almost strictly a pass rusher.

The Bears' depth behind Sweat includes free agent signing Dayo Odeyingbo, Austin Booker and Daniel Hardy. It's far from a finished product, and an area we could definitely see the Bears go out and attack before training camp or the preseason.

Right now is the time for a move like this, though. The 30-year-old would have plenty of time to come in and familiarize himself with his new teammates and plug right into a system he knows well.
