The Chicago Bears are ready for Week 2 action against the Minnesota Vikings, and the good news is that the inactive list will be anticlimactic.

That's because the Bears' injury report listed no player with an injury designation, the first time that's happened in Chicago since 2022. Chicago released their inactive list, which didn't have too many surprises. Here's a look at all the Bears players who are inactive:

  • Case Keenum, QB3
  • Jamree Kromah, DL
  • Jordan McFadden, OL
  • Ozzy Trapilo, OL
  • Jayden Loving, DL

Bears have no surprises on their inactive list entering Week 2 against the Vikings

The only major note is that Tyson Bagent is back at QB2, and Keenum drops to QB3. In the Bears' 59-37 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 1, Miller Moss and Bagent were inactive but on the active roster, with Bagent as the third string.

It's another week where Trapilo is going to be inactive, which is not a surprise. He has been recovering from his injury from last year and has been practicing. There's no timetable on when he will be returning, but once he is 100%, he should return as the starting left tackle.

While Trapilo has been out, Braxton Jones has been the starter. Theo Benedet has also rotated into the position, but Jones has been the majority of the reps. It's not clear if the Bears will use that same strategy again.

Outside of that, the inactive list is pretty much the same as last week with many linemen sitting out of the game. There is plenty of depth on the offensive and defensive line, so the Bears should be prepared for it.

It'll be interesting to see how safety Xavier Woods will play after being on the inactive list last week, but left off it it this week. Woods has recovered from his injury and will be making his Bears debut after being signed during free agency to replace the injuried Coby Bryant.

The Bears have plenty of talent on the roster, and the inactive list shows that while there are good players there, even better ones are active. Chicago has some work to do with the Vikings in Week 2.
