The Week 6 inactives have been released by the Chicago Bears, and Caleb Williams is officially active.

It was already reported that Williams would start for the Bears in the game against the Atlanta Falcons. Williams missed the last three games with a hamstring injury.

The bad news, though, is that Monangai is out for the second straight game with the thumb and toe injury he has been dealing with. Here is what the full inactive list looks like.

  • Kyle Monangai, RB
  • Tyrique Stevenson, CB
  • Case Keenum, QB3
  • Jordan McFadden, OL
  • Keyshaun Elliott, LB
  • Jayden Loving, DL
  • T.J. Edwards, LB

Chicago Bears have Caleb Williams back for Week 6 showdown against Falcons

Getting Williams back is a game-changer for the Bears after having to roll with Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent the last three weeks. Chicago gets a different element to the offense back with Williams handling the unit.

The Bears will have Williams on the field, but it will be interesting to see how he is used. He has been used to using his mobility to move out of the pocket, but with the hamstring injury, Williams might be limited on how much he is used in that aspect.

Monangai's loss was definitely felt in the Bears' 31-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers. D'Andre Swift was not able to get the running game going, but the hope is that Williams might be able to somewhat help in that aspect and open things up for Swift.

Edwards is a big loss for the Bears on defense, as they also don't have Odeyingbo and Montez Sweat for the contest. Sweat is missing the first of two games after being suspended for two games for violating the NFL's PED policy. Odeyingbo was placed on IR for the second straight season and will miss the next four games.

Chicago will have Trapilo for the first time this season, as he is active. There is no word on whether he will make the start at left tackle yet.

Stevenson is missing the Week 6 game at cornerback. That opens the door for Malik Muhammad to get the start at CB2.

Kyler Gordon is officially active for the first time this season as well. He will most likely start in the slot for the Bears.

The Bears are 3-2 this season and could use a win to build momentum ahead of their Thursday game against the Patriots. They are getting a lot of players back for the Falcons game, which gives them a big advantage.
