Ben Johnson just gave Bears fans every reason to question Ryan Poles

This really doesn't make a lot of sense.

After a Week 1 collapse to begin the season, the Chicago Bears had plenty of questions they were asking themselves. Going into a Week 1 matchup with a lot of juicy storylines against the Detroit Lions, head coach Ben Johnson had his work cut out for him.

But, prior to the game, Johnson made an interesting call when the Bears' inactives were announced. Among the Chicago inactives were two of the Bears' 2025 second-round picks, defensive lineman Shemar Turner and offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo.

Typically, players of this magnitute would be out of the game due to injury or illness. However, both Trapilo and Turner were indeed healthy scratches.

There really isn't a good way to explain this other than, certainly, Johnson would say something along the lines that he made the decisions he believed would give the Bears the best chance to win.

Ryan Poles' decision-making will be second-guessed by Bears fans for a long time

General manager Ryan Poles has made his fair share of good decisions since taking over the job in Chicago. But, he's also made a good amount of questionable decisions when it comes to roster building. Obviously, it's taken this long for him to put together a competent offensive line.

But, even at this moment in time, the offensive line is far from a finished product. And that gives fans reason to question what Poles is doing, considering the Bears are watching Trapilo hang out in streeth clothes in just his second pro game.

Along with Trapilo, last year's third-round pick, Kiran Amegadjie, was inactive. Amegadjie makes more sense than Trapilo, but still, it is incredibly alarming that a trio of high draft picks are not suiting up, yet they're healthy.

If Poles made the call to select these guys so high in each of the last two drafts, why on earth are they inactive?

Look, here's the reality of the situation. Poles has yet to have a single one of his draft picks make a Pro Bowl. That's the world we're living in as Bears fans. It's a disgusting reality, but it is our reality.

We may never know exactly why Trapilo and Turner were inactive against the Lions, but fans are certainly hoping to see them take the field sooner rather than later. Otherwise, Poles will continue to be in question, and it won't stop anytime soon.
