If you were wondering how broken Bears fans still are right now, even after hiring Ben Johnson, this is the blog for you.
You'd think things in Chicago are looking up. They finally persevered over their own incompetence to make one (1) smart decision, and someone with other job options actually chose *them.* On purpose! It's a new day on the lakefront.

And, for the most part, it seems like Bears fans are on the mend. Time heals all, etc. But some Bears fans still have an axe to grind with Matt Eberflus I guess – or their executive producer wants them to, at least. Danny Parkins – former 670 radio host – is one of those fans, and he brought his bit to [checks notes] Fox Sports 1 on Thursday morning.
In an interview with Johnson, Parkins wasted no time getting into character, finding the exact decibel that morning sports shows require from their panelists en route to a crisp 2-minute set masquerading as a legitimate question. That's showbiz, baby!
Ben Johnson wants to laugh at Matt Eberflus so badly and Bears fans can't blame him
TV is exhausting. Nothing is that funny at 8 in the morning. Get it?! Eberflus did that! Everyone laughed! The joke is that it's actually not hypothetical, and that actually happened! Parkins is pretending it's a fake situation as a bit, but it's totally real! Because he's a grumpy Bears fan who NEEDS to get that off his chest! Epic roast! And, if you can believe it, just like everyone else on the planet, Johnson would have used his final timeout. The Bears truly have an analytics genius in the building.
For whatever it's worth, this is great media training for Johnson. He's going to spend the next however-many years dealing with schtick like this from Chicago people, so I guess it's worth getting used to early? That is a boardroom laugh from Johnson if I've ever seen one. I'm deeply curious about the exact point in Parkins' rant when Johnson just decided to check out and start disassociating? At least his coworkers laughed.
Be sure to tune in next time for a special episode where everyone talks over each other about how great their gambling picks are. Come for the ABSOLUTE LOCKS and stay for the very-topical Matt Eberflus jokes.
