Well, well, well. Tyson Bagent might be the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears after all.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson told reporters on Saturday that Bagent will return to practice just two days before they play the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. He is still in concussion protocol. Bagent missed the first two practices with the concussion.
The Bears haven't had Caleb Williams practice with his hamstring injury, so Case Keenum has been taking the QB1 reps. With Bagent back at practice, the Bears could be looking for a change at quarterback.

This plot has certainly thicken with Bagent now being available to play in the Eagles game. It would be quite the upgrade if the Bears decide to start Bagent over Keenum.
For one thing, Bagent is a more athletic quarterback than Keenum is. Everyone forgets that Keenum is a mobile quarterback with underrated speed.
Chicago could use that, as it would be a similar style that Williams plays. With Keenum, it would be more passes in the pocket.
As for the game plan, it really shouldn't affect it too much. The Bears are going to run the football as much as they can. They want Kyle Monangai and D'Andre Swift to be the focal point of the offense.
Where things could be different for the Bears is the passing plays they call. They can take more shots with Bagent down the field versus Keenum. It does open up the playbook just a bit for Chicago.
This should help the wide receivers and tight ends with Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, Kalif Raymond, Colston Loveland, and Cole Kmet. They now have a quarterback that can do more to help them get open in the passing game.
It's going to be interesting to see how the Bears' offense will be called, whether it is a 60-40 with more running or 50-50 with Bagent in there. With Keenum, it might have been more 70-30 in favor of running the football.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson still has to answer the biggest question, as he much pick between Bagent and Keenum. Chicago certainly has a much better chance of beating the Eagles with Bagent over Keenum.

What the final decision will be most likely won't be revealed until Monday, but the final injury report could be revealing.
