Ben Johnson's confession isn't what Bears fans want to hear before Bengals game

Not sure he should say that.

With preparations for the Cincinnati Bengals Week 9 match underway, the Chicago Bears might be making a stunning revelation no one wants to admit, but they know the truth about.

Bears fans had to hear it from their head coach, Ben Johnson, who was asked about his opponents for the upcoming matchup. Specifically, Johnson was asked about Bengals star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase with a response that not many Bears fans were particularly happy to hear.

"Talk about a complete problem. He is that. I don't know how much you can slow him down. I don't know anything that he doesn't do well. I mean I turn on the run tape last night before I left and he's down there blocking down the field for the runners. Yeah, I think he's a complete receiver. I think it's all hands on deck to try to slow him down. I think we have to do a great job of marrying up our rush and our coverage and make it as difficult as we possibly can for this offense."

Bears might have a problem on defense

The definition of reactionary signing for the Bears was picking up C.J. Gardner-Johnson as a quick solution to handle the Bengals' passing game and deal with Chase. While Gardner-Johnson will play in the slot, it gives the Bears the depth needed as they try to hold on tight against Chase and Tee Higgins.

Chicago's first injury report shows that cornerback Tyrique Stevenson was back at practice after missing Week 8's 30-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens due to his shoulder injury. If Stevenson is back this week, that will mean he and Nahshon Wright will be on the outside covering Higgins and Chase.

This will be a good test for Stevenson, who has had a nice bounce-back start to the year after some struggles earlier in his career. He will most likely follow Chase around the entire game and try to slow him down.

Chicago desperately needs their front seven to get some pressure on either Joe Flacco or Jake Browning. Otherwise, that guy Johnson is worried about is about to go off for a big day.
