There are plenty of stars that came out of the Chicago Bears' 26-14 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 7 action, but it was the Bears' defense that stole the spotlight.
Through the first 26 minutes of the game, the Bears' defense was dominating the Saints' offense, whether they tried to pass the ball or run the ball. There was a scary moment where New Orleans ended the first half with a touchdown and started the second half with a touchdown.
From that moment on, the Bears turned on the switch and got back to playing well. It was an overall solid performance for a unit that saw key players like Tyrique Stevenson get knocked out of the game with an injury.
After the game, Bears head coach Ben Johnson had a simple explanation for what led to the team winning their fourth straight game.
“Defense, defense, defense for four quarters!”
Simple enough as the Bears' defense dominated the game
The Bears were able to hold the Saints to just 253 yards of total offense. They also had four sacks on them for 24 yards lost.
Chicago's most important stat was that they created four turnovers in the win. This is the fourth-straight game where they made at least three turnovers, all of which resulted in wins. Coincidence?
The unit also got some standout performances, including Montez Sweat, who had two quarterback hits, a sack, and a forced fumble in the win. Safeties Kevin Byard III and Jaquan Brisker each got an interception.

It's a credit to Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, as his unit has now created 15 turnovers in the last four games, 16 total turnovers to lead the NFL. This unit will only get healthier and better as the year goes on.
