Things seem to be going well in Chicago for the Bears.

Head coach Ben Johnson got his first win of his career, and Caleb Williams won the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Despite all the injuries the Bears are dealing with, Chicago has maintained a positive vibe throughout the week.

Johnson continued the good times during his press conference on Wednesday, discussing his quarterback and how he's doing. He was asked about what Williams has been doing better over the last three games.

"I see him playing the game with his feet much more so than what we had in the spring or during training camp. He's trying to tie in No. 1 in the progression with the first hitch, No. 2 with the second hitch and we're trying to throw on time a lot more often than maybe we were initially. I see it coming along."

Williams is trending in the right direction in his development

It certainly feels like, over the last few weeks in these press conferences, that Johnson has been giving complimentary reviews about Williams. Johnson has discussed his improved accuracy and his more subdued demeanor, opting not to celebrate his award this week to maintain focus on Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Williams appears to understand that he needs to maintain the momentum. This season, Williams has thrown for 715 yards and seven touchdowns to one interception, adding a QBR of 66.7 and a passer rating of 107.6. His touchdowns, QBR, and passer rating are all top 10 in the NFL.

He's on pace to break the Bears' franchise records. If he kept his averages up, he would have 4,052 yards (first Bears QB ever to do that) and 40 touchdowns. Chicago could be well on their way to seeing the quarterback they have been waiting for.

While the maturity seems to be at the level the team needs him to be, he's still a work in progress on the field. Williams is getting better and better every week, which should be a scary thought for the rest of the NFL.
