Not many Chicago Bears fans could have expected this 2025 team to make the kind of run they are currently on, but no one is going to question it.
The Bears made a statement with their 24-15 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Black Friday, doing so in dominating fashion. How about 281 yards rushing for the offense and the defense creating two turnovers in the second half? That's the punishing stats Bears fans have seen all season.
After the game, though, Bears head coach Ben Johnson was happy that the team won their ninth game in the last 10, but still doesn't think the team has reached its peak.
"We're not at what we're capable of being yet as an entire team."
Johnson hinting at this Bears team being even better?
Let's be honest, there are a few minor things this Bears team could improve on. Quarterback Caleb Williams had arguably his roughest game of the season, completing under 48% of his passes with just one touchdown and an interception against the Eagles. While the defense has been opportunistic with its turnovers, it has allowed a lot of yards.
Those flaws have been covered up by the fact that this defense has created an NFL-high 26 turnovers through 12 games. The Bears now have the number one rushing offense in the NFL, averaging 153.8 yards per game this season.
It also helps that the Bears have one of the NFL's brightest offensive minds in Johnson. He has been able to work through Williams' struggles with putting together the perfect offensive line and with being creative with his running play calls.
