The Chicago Bears had a great run through the postseason, but, like any team, they will be a lot different next year.
They have a long list of free agent options to choose from. While Ben Johnson did not go into detail on specific players, he did note that this is their priority right now, and that deciding who comes back and who goes is paramount.
"We have a ton of decisions to make on the roster. We gotta nail those," Johnson said via CHGO.
Which Chicago Bears free agents will go?
The list of free agents is long. Players who served legitimate roles include Kevin Byard, Andrew Billings, Jaquan Brisker, Olamide Zaccheaus, Devin Duvernay, Nahshon Wright, D’Marco Jackson, Braxton Jones, and Dominique Robinson. Even Theo Benedet is an Exclusive Rights Free Agent, though that means he will be back.
Beyond that list, some notable names such as Case Keenum, Durham Smythe, Jonathan Owens, Nick McCloud, Noah Sewell, and Ryan Bates will also be free agents, so not only will they be making tough decisions on impact players, but they have decisions to make on depth pieces as well.
You can make a case both ways for a lot of these players. Byard is getting older, but he held it down for the Bears this year. Brisker has been up and down, but finished on the highest note. Still, he is young, and money may call his name.
Billings is a replaceable piece, but he serves his role well. Zacceaus is a fourth wide receiver, but DJ Mooore may not be long for the roster. Wright made big plays and gave up big plays. Jackson was supposed to be depth, but he flashed as a starter. Still, they may move on from Tremaine Edmunds to free up some money for Jackson.
Braxton Jones has three years of left tackle starting experience, but was benched and was not healthy during the Ben Johnson era. Robinson has mostly been a bust, but seemed to find a role with Dennis Allen.

They have a lot of tough decisions to make, and the roster will certainly be different next year. It will be interesting to see who the Bears prioritize and why.
