When the clock hit zeroes on Sunday afternoon, and the Chicago Bears had taken down the Atlanta Falcons, FOX's Erin Andrews caught up with quarterback Caleb Williams after an incredible performance in his return to the field.
At one point during Williams' postgame interview with Andrews, he had this to say:
"Everybody was doubting us. I saw one thing where it was Falcons, Falcons, Falcons, Falcons ... and you look up at the scoreboard and it's Bears."
First of all, let's address who Williams was talking about in this reference. Leading up to the game, you saw some major outlets go heavy in the direction of Atlanta with their game picks. This very specific reference, though, was Williams pointing out the cast of ESPN's "Get Up!" where all four of them picked the Falcons to win.
Dan Orlovsky, Peter Schrager, Donte Witner and Joe Fortenbaugh all picked the Falcons. Most notable are Orlovsky, a well-known analyst and former player, and of course Schrager, an NFL insider.
Williams let them know they were wrong, and Bears fans have to love every second of it.
The Chicago Bears have a petty quarterback, which is a great thing
But, that's not all we should highlight about this response. Folks will see the snippet of Williams poking the media and pointing to the scoreboard, but what you might not know is that Andrews didn't even ask him a question about the media or proving people wrong.
She was asking him about seeing Kyler Gordon back out there, and as he was talking about how excited he was for Gordon, Williams took the liberty of steering the conversation into a different direction.
He had to let the media know they were wrong. So he did just that.
We've known this about Williams for a while. The man is petty -- and I love it. Bears fans have to love every bit of it.
He is online quite a bit. He sees and hears everything. It fuels him even more.
He might tell us that what people say about him doesn't matter and, to an extent, I truly believe it doesn't hold a whole lot of weight to him. But even though other opinions don't bother him doesn't mean they don't give him even more motivation to succeed and prove them wrong.
Outside noise can motivate him and also not hurt his feelings. Both can be true.
Just a couple of days before Williams' return in Atlanta, we saw him re-post a video to his TikTok.
It was at that moment everybody should have known what was coming.
That particular video began with various media clips with people criticizing him for his reaction to the injury, and then a brief clip with somebody saying, "That flipped a switch in me where I was like, 'okay, f*** you. Watch this.'"
That clip was followed with several Williams highlights set to some motivating background music and, well, Bears fans ate it up.
As we should. It was glorious.
And for Williams to not only re-post that, but also go out there and have the game he did against the Falcons?
I'm here for it.
I'm here for the petty franchise quarterback who doesn't let people forget.
Bears fans have been starving for a real franchise quarterback their entire lives, no matter how short or long they've been on this planet.

We finally have one, and he's not only a great player, but he carries himself with a swagger that's one of one.
