Caleb Williams' dad lights torch to Chicago Bears coaching staff with deleted post
It seems that the Chicago Bears just can't advance the news cycle beyond the aftermath of the team's Week 8 loss to the Washington Commanders.
While the loss itself was devastating, had the Bears' coaching staff acted with some form of accountability during their various press conferences this week, it's likely that sole focus on Thursday would have been on the team turning the page to Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders.
Instead, back-to-back tone-deaf press conferences from Matt Eberflus and Shane Waldron have left the Bears' coaching staff at the center of what many believe is an organizational crisis.
Even if the Bears were hoping that Friday would bring closure to the pitfalls of their coaching staff last week, Caleb Williams' dad forced them to think otherwise.
In a social media post that has since been deleted, Carl Williams seemed to take some not-so-subtle shots at the Bears' coaching staff.
Caleb Williams' dad doesn't hide true feelings about Bears' coaching staff.
Accountability has been at the center of the issues with the Bears' coaching staff this week. Between Eberflus and Waldron, neither has proven willing to accept some portion of the blame for the decisions that led to the Bears losing to the Commanders last Sunday. All of the drama that has ensued this week could have been avoided had Eberflus just copped to some of the mistakes from the game last Sunday such as not playing prevent on the second-to-final play of the game or not calling a timeout prior to the Hail Mary.
Had Eberflus shown the same level of accountability that Commanders' defensive coordinator Joe Whitt showed, the Bears would have been able to navigate the troubling waters that were created by their coaching staff.
Instead, the father of the most important person in the Bears' organization is sending subliminal shots through social media. The damage may already be done for Eberflus. If Williams has any of the same feelings that his dad has, the Bears will undoubtedly be hiring a new head coach in a couple of months.
