Caleb Williams just sent a clear message to the NFL after Bears' win vs. Browns

The Bears are ready for anything and anyone

Through 15 weeks of the 2025 season, the Chicago Bears are in sole possession of first place in the NFC North. With a matchup on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers in Chicago, they can create a little bit of distance for the final two weeks of the regular season to set themselves up to host playoff games.

It's safe to say, at this point, that the Bears have not been the talk of the NFC this season. Not that respect is required when the season is still playing out, but it feels like the masses of NFL pundits and talking heads are much more inclined to "buy" the Rams, Seahawks, even the Packers as more viable options to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl this year.

But Bears quarterback Caleb Williams called something out that the rest of the NFL might need to take notice of, before it's too late for them. The Bears might not be on top of everyone's NFL Power Rankings lists, but they are battle-tested in just about every possible way.

Caleb Williams says why the Bears won't fear anybody in this playoff run

"I think we've played teams that have a bunch of wins, we've played teams that don't; We've played close games, we've played games where we've beat teams by a lot; We've played teams where we had to win with special teams, offense, defense, running the ball, whatever the case. So I feel that we're ready for just about anything. Hot weather, cold weather, whatever the case may be. We're going to go out there and fight. I do know that. And I like our chances..."

This quote by Williams reminds me of the moment in The Sandlot when Scott Smalls (the narrator) says, "Benny would've played ball all day, all night, rain, shine, tidal wave, whatever. Baseball was the only thing he cared about."

The Bears are one of those teams that can truly adapt to their opponent, and Williams is right. We've seen this team in some ugly defensive battles this year, some shootouts, and they've won all types of games on their way to a 10-4 record at this stage.

That's what they call "finding ways to win," and it's the mark of a great team. The Bears have to go out there against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, now, and prove that they can win under pressure once again. Playing in front of the home crowd, you already know the competitive juices will be flowing.

This is shaping up to be a defining moment for rookie head coach Ben Johnson and for Caleb Williams as the team's leader. It's going to be fun to see how they respond.
