Oh...?

This could be a case of reading too far into things, but there is now good enough reason to be a little more hopeful for Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.

After going down with what appeared to be a serious injury, Williams was carted off the field. At first glance, Williams' injury looked like an Achilles. In fact, many fans immediately feared the worst: an Achilles tear.

That would have been easily classified as a worst-case scenario for Williams and the Bears. But, after the game, it was officially confirmed to be a hamstring injury.

OK, so that's positive step number one. Williams avoided an Achilles injury, thankfully.

But, as we got further out from the end of the game and reporters heard from coaches and players, there started to be more reason for hope.

Noted Bears beat reporter, Adam Jahns, reported Williams walking through the locker room on his own power and without a limp.

That's, um ... quite surprising -- but a huge positive.

If Williams wasn't even limping, that leads us to ask the question: just how bad was his injury?

Maybe, just maybe, this isn't a season-ending situation.

Caleb Williams' 3-word response to Malik Muhammad is enough to give Bears fans some optimism

But that's not all. Cornerback Malik Muhammad said he talked to Williams after the game and Williams simply told him:

"I'll be good."

Now, we're reading into things.

But, why not? This could go from a nightmare scenario to being a situation where Williams might return this season. So, let's speculate.

What does he mean he'll be good? If only we could hear from the man himself as to what that means.

Along those same lines, another Bears beat reporter, Jason Lieser, noted the quarterback was upbeat and said hello to everybody. As he was leaving, Williams reportedly said the words:

"All good."

Again, I say: what does that mean?

This is completely speculative at this point, but if Williams was in good spirits and is telling people he's going to be good, might that mean this injury isn't as bad as we all think it is?

I mean, are we just going to gloss over this? He is walking without a limp!

I would think if it was a serious injury, Williams would have been walking noticeably different.

But he isn't, and that's enough reason for Bears fans to have some hope. That's more than enough reason for fans to be optimistic about his testing on Monday, which we will undoubtedly have covered for you, here.

At the very least, one would assume Williams has some sort of hamstring strain, and that could sideline him for as little as a few weeks. Hamstring injuries can linger, too, so the Bears are going to be as cautious as possible with him.

If it's a full hamstring tear, then he'll likely be out a few months, meaning his season is essentially over.

But, until we hear the official word, we can hang on tight to these tidbits of information.

Maybe, this isn't the end of the world. Maybe, the sky isn't falling.

Maybe.
