Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is only going into his third season in the NFL, but he already has everyone wanting bigger things from him.
Williams has shown the capabilities to make all the throws that remind everyone of what Patrick Mahomes was early in his career. That doesn't mean there aren't things that he needs to improve on to become what Mahomes has become. Williams shared with the media what he wants to get better at and unlock for his career.
"It’s just get the completion percentage up, keep the offense on the field more, score as many points as possible, be the highest-scoring offense, because that’s my part in the team, going out there and orchestrating it and being able to go out there and score whether it’s handoffs or passes, whatever, that doesn’t matter," Williams said via ESPN's Courtney Cronin. "It’s just being able to put up as many points as possible to help our team win as many games as possible and then keeping the turnovers very low."
Caleb Williams has multiple things he wants to get unlocked in his career
The completion percentage is the biggest thing, as he dipped from 62% in 2024 to 58% in 2025. That has to get better for Williams to get to the level he wants to. To get that done, it will have to be a combination of his accuracy getting better and the receivers not dropping as many passes.
As for the offense and the goals he has, they are already halfway to the goal they want to be at. This Bears offense was a top 10 unit that was also third in the NFL in rushing thanks to the improved offensive line and the great play of the running backs D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai.
Williams has the weapons on offense to put up some big yardage through the air over the next few years. Rome Odunze and Luther Burden are about to hit the primes of their careers, and Colston Loveland already looks like a top 10 tight end in the NFL. Rookie Zavion Thomas has shown flashes of greatness thanks to his speed.

As long as Williams can improve in his accuracy and continue to keep the turnovers down, there's no doubt he can be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and lead the Bears to multiple Super Bowls. This offense is too good to hit a wall because they have the right QB.
