Every time Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams steps up to the microphone to speak, he says everything right that should never cast any doubts on him being a star in the NFL.
Despite a rough fumble in the end zone, Williams had one of the best games of the season in Chicago's 31-28 Week 12 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He finished completing 19 of 35 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns, adding 21 yards on the ground.
After the game, Williams was all for celebrating the team's 8-3 start to the season, the best since 2018. He also couldn't help but calm the excitement down with a mature outlook on the season.
"We're an 8-3 team in the National Football League. So, we feel good about where we're at, but we go got to get better. Yeah, we don't feel like we're the same old Bears. We pull through for each other when it matters most."
Williams continues to prove to be the right man for Chicago
Through 11 games, Williams's completion percentage took another dip at 59.2%, but he has thrown for 2,568 yards and 16 touchdowns to four interceptions, adding 293 rushing yards and three scores. Williams has not thrown an interception in the last four games.
Chicago is firing on all cylinders at the right time, winning eight of their last nine games. The Bears are maintaining a half-game lead in the NFC North over the 7-3-1 Green Bay Packers and a one-game lead on the 7-4 Detroit Lions.
After all the chatter about the Bears not being able to beat teams with winning records, they finally squashed that narrative for the time being. With upcoming games against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Packers twice, and the Lions, that narrative will be put to the test once again.

If there is anything that Williams and this Bears team have proven is how resilient they are when a big play or plays need to be made to win a game.
