There was a ton of doubt with Chicago Bears rookie first-round pick Colston Loveland in his first few games with the team, but he has come together in a massive way.

Loveland is coming off a stellar game in the Bears' 31-28 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had four receptions for 49 yards and caught his third touchdown catch of the season.

Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was asked about the recent rapport that he is building with his young tight end. Williams had some high praise for the rookie, sharing how different he is from other tight ends.

"He’s a safe target. He’s a reliable target. And his body language when he’s running routes is very similar to a wide receiver. It’s very smooth. It speaks to me very easily. I know when he’s breaking down, when he’s doing what. Then he’s also tall and a large human. That makes it a little bit easier to sometimes just toss it up to him."

The Loveland and Williams connection will be strong for a long time in Chicago

Fans could tell that Williams needed time to build trust with Loveland, as the rookie was not involved in the offense very often in his first six games. Loveland had just 11 receptions for 116 yards.

The breakout game for Loveland came against the Cincinnati Bengals, in which he caught six passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score. In the last four games, Loveland has 17 receptions for 262 yards and three touchdowns.

All of a sudden, Loveland is now one of the top three targets on the team, with Rome Odunze and DJ Moore still getting more looks. Williams has done a really good job of distributing the ball equally to everyone, but now he has his security blanket in Loveland, emerging as a potential star in this offense.

The chemistry that Williams and Loveland are building is going to last for a long time, and a really encouraging sign for any Bears fan that the passing game is going to be awesome because of those two young guys.
