CBS Sports reveals much-improved ceiling and floor for Bears' 2025 season

Typically, when you think about the Chicago Bears, you think about a wide range of outcomes. The team seems to get the fanbase to buy into Super Bowl aspirations every season, but they end up picking in the top ten more often than not.

Do the Chicago Bears have a high floor in 2025?

This year, expectations appear to be much milder. Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports went through the ceiling and floor projections for every team. He had the Bears maxing out at 10-7 and making the playoffs, but having a floor of eight wins.

The ceiling seems about right and potentially could even be higher. Yes, this is a five-win team from last season, but it is also a team that is expected to improve in many areas. Beyond that, the team was in a lot of games last season, but it seemed as though minor issues kept holding them back every time they took one step forward.

If they can win some of the games that were close last season, they could be much improved. Still, while it is easy to make a case for the ceiling being higher, the floor should be lower as well

Yes, we can all assume Ben Johnson will be good, but we do not know. The center they signed is coming off an injury, and the Rams could not wait to ditch the right guard they added. Lastly, the first sentence that Kerr wrote in the floor section was ‘Is Caleb Williams good?’

A team that has a new coach, new offensive lineman at every stop, and a quarterback that may not be good should probably have a lower floor than what is being projected.

On paper, when you examine the roster and project Williams, an eight-to-10-win frame seems right. However, there are far too many variables to call that the best and worst that this team can do. Maybe it's years of watching this team, but the range can always be wide when it comes to the Chicago Bears.
