Now that the Chicago Bears are more than two weeks into free agency, it is a good time to look back at the roster and see where they stand and which areas may need improvement. How does the quarterback depth chart look heading into the 2026 NFL draft?
Chicago Bears post-free-agency quarterback depth chart
Caleb WilliamsÂ
This is obviously Williams’ room as he enters the year as the starter for the third straight season. This is now his second season with Ben Jonson, and the rest of the quarterback room should be exactly the same as the year prior. So, while the first two years were about learning, understanding, and building familiarity, this year will focus on growth and making strides in the offense. Bears fans should be excited.Â
Tyson BagentÂ
The Bears shopped Bagent and even admitted that it would be right by Bagent to let him have a chance to start in the NFL. However, with under five weeks until the NFL Draft starts, the team has not had any serious bidders.
As things stand, the Pittsburgh Steelers are the only team that has not signaled who their likely starting quarterback will be, and they do have a roster that will be competitive. Most assume Aaron Rodgers will return to Pittsburgh, but if the sides do not come together, they are the last team that could still trade for Bagent on draft night.Â
Case KeenumÂ
Case Keenum is the best third-string quarterback you can find. He would be a backup on many teams, and his veteran status would help two young players, Bagent and Williams. It also gives the Bears the possibility to trade Bagent if the Steelers do end up calling.Â

Are the Chicago Bears set at quarterback?
They will add one more training camp arm, but with this depth chart, it would be nearly impossible for him to make the team. Even if the Bears traded Bagent, they would likely bump Keenum to the backup role, and they would find a late-round pick, an undrafted player, or even a veteran free agent to fill the third-string role. It is hard to see the Bears making any real investment here.
