Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has a lot of people excited for the future and what he can become.

Williams showed signs of being elite last season, throwing for 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns to seven interceptions. But it was more about the seven comeback and game-winning drives and the fourth quarter performances that got everyone buying stock in his career.

Wisconsin sports broadcaster Mike Heller appeared on the "CHGO Bears Podcast", where he discussed Williams. Heller had a bold comparison for Williams that Green Bay Packers fans are not going to enjoy hearing.

"I see him a little bit differently and go, man, if that guy figures out the first three quarters of a football game, he reminds me a lot of Aaron Rodgers. I mean, I think he can be a very good quarterback. He could be a Hall of Famer. That's a big stretch from where he is today, but his fourth quarters and overtimes a year ago showed that high ceiling he's got."

Caleb Williams is on the Aaron Rodgers pathway in his career

Rodgers was a lot like Williams in his younger years. The ability to run out of the pocket to make an incredible throw, but the deep ball passes and how pretty they were. That's something both guy possessed when they were in their prime.

Now, the one thing that Williams has to work on if he wants to match Rodgers is accuracy. If that completion percentage can increase from 58% last year, that would make a world of difference for Williams.

Everything else is comparable and something Williams can work with. His arm strength, athleticism, clutch gene, and more are all traits that make him an elite quarterback and comparable to Rodgers.

The 2026 season is going to be a big one for Williams, as he needs to take another leap in his NFL career. If he can step up to the plate and perform well, that can go a long way toward showing people that Williams has Hall of Fame potential.

Bears fans need to take one step at a time, though, as it first starts with training camp and seeing how much of head coach Ben Johnson's offense he has learned. That will go a long way in indicating how the 2026 season will fare for Williams. Still, it's a great thing to see Williams and Rodgers compared just to stick it to Packers fans.
