It's always a good day when the Chicago Bears are nationally praised and, suddenly, every Green Bay Packers fan on social media simply cannot stand it.
With the quarterback ranking hysteria that's hit social media this week, it's been a good time to check in on those Packers fans who saw Caleb Williams sneak into the top 10 while Jordan Love missed the mark. For those who may be catching up, ESPN released a top-10 quarterback ranking, except this was put together based on feedback from coaches, scouts, and executives -- you know, the professionals who do this for a living.
For a few days now, the reactions have been music to Bears fans' ears. And, by reactions, I'm specifically talking about the fan base over there in Green Bay. But there's simply one thing Packers fans cannot argue with when it comes to the Williams vs. Love debate, and Fox Sports' Danny Parkins hit the nail on the head during a recent episode of "First Things First."
"You know I also love the eye test. The 90-second highlight tape, the 4-minute highlight tape of Caleb Williams is arguably as impressive as any player in football ... when we show a montage of Caleb Williams' best, and then I send it to a coach, a GM, a scout and I'm like 'how many other guys could have a highlight tape like this?' What's that list? Mahomes, Allen, Caleb? End of list?"

Caleb Williams has one thing Packers fans will never be able to argue away from him
Parkins is right on with this take. While both Bears and Packers fans can argue all day about specific stats (and I am not immune to being part of that group, either), the one thing that cannot be argued is precisely what Parkins is talking about here.
It's the eye test.
Every football fan, whether they're a fan of the Bears, Packers, or another team, watched Williams' 2025 campaign in pure, unadulterated amazement. Every single week, Williams would make a play that caused fans of all different teams to jump up off their couch, wide-eyed and maybe even utter some NSFW phrases out of nothing more than reflex.
No matter what Packers fans bring to the table, this is the one thing they absolutely cannot argue for Love's sake. Love doesn't make those plays. He just doesn't! That's not who he is, and it never will be.
Williams has long been the guy to make those "Superman" plays, even before his time in the NFL. But to see him make those plays at the pro level is something to behold.
And, here's the thing: Packers fans have to admit I'm right here, if they're being honest with themselves. Let's be honest, if any fans know what those plays look like on a regular basis, it's the ones in Green Bay.
I will fully admit to the fact that I watched Aaron Rodgers make these kinds of plays over and over again, sometimes against the Bears, and many times against other teams as well. He was that caliber of player in his prime. Rodgers made those eye-popping plays that very few quarterbacks could make.
That's not fun to admit, but it's the truth.
And now, when we're looking at a player like Williams, his ceiling is right up there with those elite quarterbacks. He has everything going for him. If he was able to do the things he did last year, in the first season of the most complex offense he's ever run in his life, then imagine what the coming years have to hold.
Packers fans, do me a favor and do a simple search for "Caleb Williams highlights." Then, do the same for Jordan Love.
