Caleb Williams just boldly said what all of his critics were afraid to hear

Oh man. Chills.

There is no quarterback in the NFL this season who has proven to be as cold-blooded in the final moments of a game as Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has.

Down 21-3 at halftime, Williams didn't even flinch at the idea of having to come back from an 18-point deficit. He just led the Bears to score 28 points in the second half and 25 of them coming in the fourth quarter to take down the Green Bay Packers 31-27 in the NFC Wild Card game.

During his media availability, Williams discussed how he handles the pressure so well in games. As normal, the franchise quarterback just isn't fazed with anything that comes his way, even if it looks bad for the Bears.

"I feel calm in those moments. I feel that I am the best in those moments cause of how I have prepared for those moments."

Caleb Williams continues to show that he is just built differently

There have been just too many times this season where Williams has shown how clutch he is in the big moments. Seven games this season have featured Williams leading a comeback or a game-winning score to close out the contest.

What is even more impressive is when he faces a double-digit deficit in a game this season. The Bears are 3-3 this year when the team is down by 10 or more points with under five minutes left in the game, while the rest of the league combined has won three of those games.

Williams recorded two wins against the Packers when they were down by 10 points. The other time he did it was when the Bears were down 20-10 to the New York Giants, but came back to win 24-20.

Bears fans should have seen the signs as far back as his rookie season. While there were only five wins, Williams led a game-winning drive in the final week of the 2024 season against the Green Bay Packers. He would have had a second one in the Hail Mary loss to the Washington Commanders earlier that season as well.

Chicago has given Williams the right pieces around him offensively and the right coach in Ben Johnson to help him unleash his talents, but it's always been there in him. When the game matters the most, that's when Williams is at his best.
