We are less than one week away from the Chicago Bears making their first-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft.

As we get closer to the draft, the only thing that we know for sure is that we have no idea who they are going to take. Even the experts do not know.

Some of the most respected mock draft analysts in the NFL landscape released their updated mock drafts this week. A few teams had commonalities, but from Todd McShay to Mel Kiper, Dane Brugler, and Peter Schrager, all of these leading experts had completely different thoughts about what the Bears will do. They all had completely different positions.

Expert mock draft brings a variety of options for the Chicago Bears

Mel Kiper Jr. - Zion Young, EDGE (Missouri)

Kiper has them going with the long-armed edge rusher from Missouri. This pick may feel a bit rich for his draft stock, but he is exactly what Dennis Allen looks for in his edge rushers, and that makes sense why Kiper went this direction.

Dane Brugler - T.J. Parker, EDGE (Clemson)

Parker brings a lot of the same style to the defense as Young. It is more a matter of preference and of who the analyst thinks will be there. In this case, Brugler went Parker, but the idea is that both of them see the Bears finding their favorite edge rusher and taking him.

Todd McShay - Dillon Thieneman, Safety (Oregon)

Thieneman might be a surprise pick, only because few expect him to fall this far. McShay does, and if he did, he would be hard for the Bears to pass on. They have a need for safety, and while he is versatile, he would be best in the box, which makes him a perfect complement to Coby Bryant. Both Brugler and Kiper had Thieneman gone, so maybe they would all agree if this player were on the board.

Peter Schrager - Kadyn Proctor, OT (Alabama)

Proctor is another player that the others had gone by the Bears' pick, so we will never know who they preferred in that scenario. However, Schrager has the floor for the Alabama tackle being the Bears.

The trend could be that the Bears will take the best player who falls. Most do not expect the latter two to be on the board. If a shocker drop does not happen, the team will take the best edge rusher.
