The 2025 NFL Mock Draft season is upon us, with many NFL insiders sharing their thoughts on how the draft will shake out. For the Chicago Bears, while there have been flirtations with the idea of the team selecting Ashton Jeanty, the hope is that the team addresses the trenches with the No. 10 selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.
One of the latest mock drafts was one from The Athletic, which compiled input from its lineup of beat reports. For the Bears, Kevin Fishbain made the selection, and it may come as a surprise.
Chicago Bears select Mike Green in Beat Writer Mock Draft
Green exploded this past season with Marshall, going from 5.5 sacks in two seasons to 17 in 2024. Green also went from 10 carer tackles for loss to 23 last season. This explosive run, plus a strong Senior Bowl has him in this conversation. If he continues his momentum with a strong combine, this may be a player that gets a lot more talk around the top ten and in connection with the Bears.
Most Bears fans are screaming for an offensive lineman at this point, so Green could be a disappointment. It is worth noting that in this mock draft, Will Campbell was not the only lineman off of the board, but Armand Membour, the tackle from Missouri was also drafted in the pick before Chicago.
Abdul Carter went second overall, and while Jalon Walker is listed as an edge rusher, Green would be the next true edge player since Walker is a bit of a linebacker hybrid. This would mean that the Bears took Green over notable edge rushers Mykel Williams and James Pearce Jr. Those two have been mocked ahead of Green at times, but Fishbain elected to go with the smaller school phenom over the two SEC rushers.
If Mebou and Campbell do get selected before the Bears pick, it will be interesting to see if they pivot to defense, or if they look to Josh Simmons from Ohio State or Kelvin Banks from Texas. Daniel Jeremiah from NFL Network has linked Kelvin Banks to Chicago.
