The Chicago Bears have a brand-new problem on the injury report that could set them back for their Week 18 showdown against the Detroit Lions.

Chicago's sickness problems continue to plague this Bears team, as now starting offensive lineman Jonah Jackson missed practice with an illness. Jackson was not on the first injury report and is a late addition with one practice remaining.

Here is the full injury report from the Bears ahead of the Lions game:

1/2/2026 Bears Injury Report

  • Jonah Jackson, OL (Illness, DNP)
  • Rome Odunze, WR (Foot, DNP)
  • Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, DE (Concussion, DNP)
  • Nick McCloud, CB (Illness, Limited)
  • Ozzy Trapilo, OL (Knee/Quad, Limited)
  • Josh Blackwell, CB (Shoulder, Full)
  • Luther Burden III, WR (Quad, Full)
  • Olamide Zaccheaus, WR (Illness, Full)

Bears' offense continues to take massive hits to starting lineup

It's another day, and Odunze was not on the practice field, which now looks like he will not play in the game against the Lions. The good news for the Bears, though, is that Zaccheaus and Burden were both full participants, which is great for the wide receivers as they won't be short-handed for long.

Chicago's offensive line has some questions now, with one week to go before the playoffs, with two starters banged up. Trapilo is at least working out, so he looks like he will still be able to start, but this latest Jackson illness will bring some concern that he might be out.

If Jackson is indeed out, it could lead to a couple of options for them. Rookie Luke Newman, who was just activated to the 53-man roster from IR, and Jordan McFadden are the backup guards. Theo Benedet might also be another option, as he has been thrown around on the line despite being more of a tackle.

Chicago's injury report is much shorter than it has been for most of the season, but two key offensive starters might be out, which could be bad news for the Bears as they finish up the 2025 campaign and turn their focus to the playoffs.
