The Chicago Bears have completed the majority of their free agency moves and are now focusing on the 2026 NFL Draft.
This makes it a good time to look at each position group and see where they will make draft decisions this season. What does the tackle depth chart look like?

Darnell Wright
One spot and a player is locked down. Darnell Wright was great at right tackle last season, and the question now is when he will get an extension and how much he will get. He will be part of the team moving forward.Â
Theo BenedetÂ
Benedet is going to get a chance to start this season. He started last year due to injuries at the position and finished with 584 snaps. However, he was benched at a certain point. The Bears brought in competition for him, but as things stand, he is likely the leader in the clubhouse.Â
Braxton Jones
At his best, Braxton Jones would be the best left tackle the Bears have. However, he clearly tried to return from his injury too soon last year, costing himself money and a chance at a long-term starting job. He is much healthier now, and the job is still wide open, so Jones could win this in training camp and never look back. He is in a contract year once again.Â
Jedrick Wills
Wills is a former first-round pick who showed promise during his first three seasons. However, he has suffered many injuries over the past three years and did not play at all last season. His potential is there, but he is just another name in the competition right now.Â
Kiran AmegadjieÂ
The Bears' insistence on bringing back Jones and adding Wills shows you how much they trust Amegadjie. He is now entering his third NFL season, but is further away from playing than ever.Â
Ozzy TrapiloÂ
Trapilo is so low because he will start the year on the IR, and there is only a small chance he plays at all this season. That is why they have three options ahead of him at left tackle.Â

Do the Chicago Bears need a left tackle?
On the surface, the Bears do not have a starting left tackle, and it should be a big need in the draft. However, their plan appears to be to let Benedet, Wills, and Jones duel it out and let the cream rise to the top. Investing in so many options means there are not going to be snaps for a rookie addition. It would be a surprise if the Bears draft a tackle high.
