Since the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft and with free agency having died down, Chicago Bears fans still see one glaring issue on this roster.
It isn't a secret. General manager Ryan Poles is banking on the current group of pass rushers to get the job done, but will it be enough?
Many fans want to see Poles get aggressive and dip back into the remaining free agent pool to bolster that group at defensive end. But, as time goes on, that pool will dry up, just as it continued to do today.
Veteran free agent defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. is signing a one-year deal with the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
The Chicago Bears' current group of pass rushers can't be left without one more veteran free agent addition
With the former no. 3 overall pick off the market, the Bears' options continue to dwindle. While he has never made a Pro Bowl, Fowler is just two years removed from finishing with an impressive 10.5 sacks for the Washington Commanders.
Now, the Bears should not just be sniffing around the rest of the free agents still out there, but actively pursuing them. Poles has to add one more. Fans know this group simply isn't good enough.
Montez Sweat has been good at times, but he hasn't been dominant. Dayo Odeyingbo has everything to prove after the Bears chose to pay up for him a year ago, and he is coming off a shortened season due to injury.
Austin Booker is a fan favorite who has long flashed potential, but can he become a full-time starter?
Is Shemar Turner going to come on after a shortened rookie season and become an integral part of the pass rush?
At this point, if I'm Poles, I am strongly considering some names like Cameron Jordan or Joey Bosa. Jordan is still playing at a high level, and he's been available since the start of free agency. After spending his entire career with the New Orleans Saints, he could join a familiar face in Dennis Allen.
Bosa, meanwhile, had a productive season in Buffalo last year. He didn't pile on the sacks, but he was disruptive. Bosa totaled an impressive 47 pressures and 30 quarterback hurries.

Poles has some strong options still out there. If he'd add just one of them, the Bears' pass rush group would be complete until it ultimately gets rebuilt next year.
