The Chicago Bears have been so focused on free agency this week and now the focus shifts to the 2026 NFL Draft to find the next batch of players
The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs reported that Bears general manager Ryan Poles, along with assistant general manager Jeff King and director of player personnel Trey Koziol, are at Oklahoma's Pro Day watching the prospects work out. Biggs shared some insight on who Poles might be looking at.
"Top OU prospects are probably WR Deion Burks & edge R Mason Thomas, who might be a little small for Bears defense.
Interesting prospect is OL Febechi Nwaiwu. Primarily played guard for Sooners but some consider him a center prospect and he started 2 games last fall at C for OU."
Ryan Poles at Oklahoma's Pro Day for Bears
Bears need help off the edge, and Thomas would be an intriguing prospect to go after. He had 22 tackles for loss over the last two years and can be disruptive as a pass rusher and as a run-stopper.
Burks could give the Bears the WR3 they need to complement Luther Burden and Rome Odunze in the passing, but would have to compete with the newly signed Kalif Raymond for playing time in the slot. He finished last season with 620 yards and four touchdowns for the Sooners.
Nwaiwu is an interesting name for the Bears to target. They have already done a lot of work in bringing in offensive linemen and bringing back key depth players, but more youth is needed, as the team will have to spend a lot of money in the future.

Poles has his sights on some good players, and the Bears fan base knows he's got a lot of work to do in the draft after a quiet few days in free agency.
