The Chicago Bears are starting to dive into their NFL Draft scouting, looking for the next great talent to join the franchise.

Last year, the Bears hit four home runs in the 2025 NFL Draft, including Colston Loveland, Ozzy Trapilo, Luther Burden, and Kyle Monangai. General manager Ryan Poles hopes to have similar success and might be able to with a few prospects from the Senior Bowl.

Bleacher Report writer Gary Davenport went through 10 players at the Senior Bowl who have been standouts and who would be their ideal landing spots in the NFL. TCU safety Bud Clark's ideal landing spot appears to be the Bears, according to Davenport.

"The dots here aren't especially difficult to connect. The Bears are coming off a great season, but there are some major offseason questions facing the team in 2026—including the fact that starting safeties Kevin Byard III and Jaquan Brisker are both about to hit free agency and should both command big bucks on the open market. Clark could offer the Bears an inexpensive replacement who is an experienced starter who has shown the ability to make big plays. There are worse ways to use a Day 2 pick."

Bears might have found their Jaquan Brisker replacement in Bud Clark

There's no doubt that Clark has the potential to be a starter in the NFL with the skill set he brings. He has had 15 career interceptions at TCU, including four last year. It's safe to say that he is a ball hawk in every sense of the word.

With concerns about the Bears not being able to bring back both Byard and Brisker, Poles made it clear he wants Byard back. Brisker has not received the same kind of reinsurance he might be looking for, and he could be looking for a new home.

Clark's play is pretty similar to what Brisker can do on the field, and if the Bears can bring back Byard, what a perfect mentor that would be for the Horned Frog. Chicago would at least have one part of the secondary secure for the future with Clark back there.

Poles has a great track record with his offensive players over the years, but has missed more than he has hit with his defensive players in the draft. Clark would be a candidate for the home run title for the Bears.
