The Chicago Bears have become known over the last year as a team that takes chances on and off the field.
While it may not always work out, they have often been on the right side of things in 2025, with an 11-6 record to show for it. Now entering the offseason, the Bears have big questions to answer, but the buzz around Chicago is all about whether they will take another chance and trade for Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby. On his show, FOX Sports Radio host Colin Cowherd shared what he would do and what he thinks will happen with the Bears and Crosby trade talks.
"Ben Johnson is an aggressive guy. Ryan Poles is an aggressive GM. Go for it... It's not a roll of the dice, he's an elite player."
Should the Bears go all in to get Maxx Crosby in a trade?
Crosby has been a dominant force in the NFL since joining the league in 2019, racking up 69.5 sacks in that time. It's not every day that a five-time Pro Bowler is open to being traded, so it's something the Bears should take advantage of.
One thing the franchise has to resolve first is the team's financial situation, as they are over the salary cap. That means that they have to create more cap space to make a Crosby trade happen, so all the rumors around trading guys like Tremaine Edmunds and DJ Moore have to happen first.
It appears the Bears are serious about creating cap space to be aggressive in the offseason. That strategy worked out well last offseason, when they added big-name offensive linemen like Joe Thuney, Drew Dalman, and Jonah Jackson.

The impact those guys made is the same kind of impact Crosby can make on defense after the Bears had just 35 sacks in 2026. Making that kind of addition instantly makes the Bears Super Bowl contenders, which has not been said in the Windy City for a long time.
