The Chicago Bears are feeling really good about themselves after Case Keenum's incredible performance against the Philadelphia Eagles, which has overshadowed one other player who has dominated through three games: D'Andre Swift.
Before the season, the Bears made their feelings about Swift clear by giving him a massive three-year, $33.75 million contract extension. He responded by rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns in Chicago's Week 1 win over the Carolina Panthers.
It's already been an impressive start for the Bears running back, as he is still trying to prove to the rest of the NFL that he is an every-down starter. While he may still be splitting carries with Kyle Monangai, Swift is proving his worth and may be pacing for the best season of his NFL career.
D'Andre Swift is playing at another level from his other seasons with the Bears
In each of the three games this season, Swift hasn't had at least 88 total yards of offense. Even in games where he rushes for under 50 yards, he still makes an impact in the passing game. For example, in the Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, he had 54 receiving yards and 45 rushing yards, finding other ways to help the team.
This season, Swift has rushed 54 times for 253 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 4.7 yards per carry. His rushing attempts, yards, and touchdowns are in the top 10 and his average yards per touch is 12th in the NFL.
In the Bears' 27-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, Swift and the rushing attack really struggled to establish much momentum on the ground. The Bears never gave up on him, and eventually, he started to dominate the second half. He finished with 20 carries for 84 yards and averaged 4.2 yards per carry.
No matter what the situation is, Swift is always going to find a way to make an impact on the offense. In a time where the Bears are trying to survive without Caleb Williams at quarterback, Swift is the one stepping up and making the plays needed.
Swift's explosiveness sets him apart from many other NFL running backs. He doesn't get tired in a game; he can keep hammering out yards late in the fourth quarter and still average four to five yards per carry.
At the pace Swift is going, he is looking at 1,433 yards and 17 touchdowns on the season. Both would shatter his career bests and could even put him in the Pro Bowl conversation for the first time.

The Bears realized it before everyone else, but Swift is literally breaking all logic with running backs and is getting better with age. He might end up being a great player for this team past 30 with the 2026 season being the highlight.
