A year ago, Chicago Bears fans wanted to see a massive change at the running back position. Frankly, that included potentially cutting ties with D'Andre Swift after a mediocre year.

But, the Bears held onto him and, boy, did he deliver with the help of Ben Johnson's leadership.

Swift made his rounds during Super Bowl 60's Radio Row and chatted with plenty of media, including CHGO, who got one of the more notable snippets from the Bears running back. Asked about whether he believes he'll return to Chicago for 2026, he sounded hopeful:

"That's what I hope will happen ... hopefully I did enough to be able to come back into that building. I love this group of guys."

At this point, it's hard to deny that Chicago is keeping Swift around. Nothing is set in stone, but it sure sounds like he'll be staying after a strong second season with the Bears. The 27-year-old had a career year in 2025, putting up 1,087 rushing yards and nine scores on the ground. He added 299 through the air and one receiving touchdown, as well.

The Chicago Bears have a few options with D'Andre Swift this offseason

The Bears could choose to move on from Swift, if they wanted to, and save $7.5 million by cutting him. Entering the final year of his three-year deal, Swift could see one of a few different things happen in the coming weeks.

Aside from cutting him, the Bears very well could choose to extend him. Health has not been a huge issue with Swift, and his production soared under Johnson this past year. If the Bears wanted to put a stamp on continuity, extending Swift and keeping both him and Kyle Monangai as the two-horse backfield wouldn't be a bad move at all.

Of course, Chicago could also let Swift ride it out with the lone year left on his deal.

Chicago's RB1 also chatted it up with one of our favorites, Adam Rank, and talked about the special group of players and coaches this organization has.

"Ben came in and changed everything. We got a special group. We got special people in place for us to go ahead and do special things in that city."

I would say, overall, Swift's sentiments sound like he really wants to be back in Chicago. After not necessarily settling in anywhere else and having an up-and-down start to his career, he sure seems like he's found a home with Johnson and the Bears.
