Davante Adams trade could have ripple effects for the Chicago Bears
The New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders are at the center of the latest NFL Trade rumors as the two teams connected on a deal Tuesday morning that reunited wide receiver Davante Adams with Aaron Rodgers in New York.
After Keenan Allen's two-touchdown performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars, it's likely that Bears fans do not have any regret over the team's decision to trade for Allen last March.
Adams was never an option for the Bears but both the Jets and the Raiders figure to be at the center of trade rumors that may impact the NFC North.
Shortly before trading for Adams, the Jets reportedly granted permission for Haason Reddick to seek a trade.
The Jets traded for Reddick in the offseason after the star pass rusher was unable to reach an agreement with the Philadelphia Eagles on a new contract. What the Jets forgot in trading for Reddick is to ensure that both sides were aligned on a new contract. Because of that omission from the Jets' front office, Reddick has held out with no intention of reporting.
Reddick's switch in representation likely will accelerate a resolution to his holdout. The resolution will likely be a trade but not one to the Chicago Bears.
The Bears may have to deal with Reddick in the NFC North, though. Detroit Lions defensive superstar Aidan Hutchinson has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after fracturing his tibia and fibula during the Lions' victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
The Lions seem to be an ideal fit for a potential trade for Reddick. But beyond Reddick, the Lions could look to add to the fire sale that the Raiders are seemingly going to have after trading Adams. Beyond Adams, the other disgruntled star on the Raiders this season has been defensive end, Maxx Crosby. For as menacing as Hutchinson is on the Lions' defensive line, Crosby would be just as frightening.
