This Chicago Bears' defense is doing things that has not been seen in a unit in a long time.

Over the first two games, the defense struggled to find its footing, creating just one turnover and surrendering 79 points, with little to no pass rush in sight. A lot of Bears fans were starting to get concerned that Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen wasn't getting through to his banged-up unit.

That all changed against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3 when they won their first game of the year, but created four turnovers. A trend began to take hold as the Bears won four straight, but they were also creating at least three turnovers in each of those wins.

Chicago currently has 16 total turnovers created, the most in the NFL. 15 of those turnovers have come during the winning streak. Yeah, it's clear that the defense making plays is the difference for this team.

The real question, though, is how they were able to flip the light switch and start making impact plays multiple times a game?

Dennis Allen explains it all in the best way possible

Allen addressed the media, who wondered how they had managed to create so many turnovers. For the Bears' coaching staff, it all started in the summer, as they began building trust with the players.

"We've got really good assistant coaches who do a great job of coaching these guys, do a great job of giving them some tips and alerts and things to look for technique-wise, put them in the right spot. I think our assistant coaches do a great job. I think our guys are really starting to understand the things we're asking them to do and I think they are seeing some of the benefits of 'Hey listen, if we kind of do what we are supposed to do within the framework of the defense, we're all going to have opportunities to make plays at some point in time and I think they're beginning to trust each other."

Bears fans hope Allen can continue the defense's success as they face one of their toughest tasks of the season: the Baltimore Ravens.
