There's a growing expectation that the Chicago Bears will address the running back position during the 2025 NFL Draft.
That doesn't mean that D'Andre Swift is sure to be traded. Swift has a role on the Bears' offense, however, it seems that Swift may be the change of pace running back under Ben Johnson instead of the primary running back that he was last season.
Speculation has surrounded the Bears and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Jeanty is believed to be the best running back in the 2025 NFL Draft, with the expectation growing that he will be taken within the first 10 selections. If Jeanty makes it beyond the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 6, then there is a chance he could slip to the Bears at No. 10. However, that scenario doesn't seem too likely at the moment. Behind Jeanty, there is Omarion Hampton, who could be available in the middle of the first round if the Bears decide to trade back.
What seems more likely is that the Bears will address the running back position on Day 2 of the draft. The Bears have already been linked to TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins, but there is another running back who could have the Bears' attention.

ESPN's Matt Bowen has Iowa running back Kaleb Johnson as the best fit for the Bears in the draft. Johnson is a match with the outside-zone running game that Ben Johnson likes to use and has shown an uptick in his ability to produce in the passing game.
If Kaleb Johnson were the selection for the Bears in the second round of the draft, there should be an expectation that Roschon Johnson would stick around as the short-yardage running back. If Kaleb Johnson and Swift are going to be a part of the Bears' running back room, the Bears will need someone who can success in-between the tackles. Roschon Johnson may check that box.
