When the Chicago Bears take the field against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in London, the team may be without starting cornerback Tyrique Stevenson.
Stevenson's role on the Bears' defense has had added importance this season given how Jaylon Johnson has essentially shut down an entire side of the field. Opposing quarterbacks have been forced to target Stevenson's side of the field. That tendency will likely be amplified on Sunday with Stevenson looking unlikely to play.
The Bears' depth in the secondary, all of a sudden, is thin for the game against the Jaguars. In addition to Stevenson being doubtful for the game, Jaquan Brisker and Terell Smith have been ruled out.
Smith would have been the next man up had he not been injured. Josh Blackwell will likely be starting in place of Stevenson. Kyler Gordon, who had been dealing with a heel injury this week, will likely remain in the slot.

Friday's injury report was also an encouraging sign for Teven Jenkins. Despite not practicing during Thursday's practice, Jenkins was a limited participant on Friday. Given that Jenkins was able to practice on Friday, that is a sign that he should be on the field on Sunday. It's an important game for Jenkins considering that the offensive line seemed to improve when Bill Murray stepped in his place last Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
Friday was also an encouraging sign for Jacob Martin. Martin opened the season on injured reserve with a toe injury, but his three-week practice window opened this week. The fact that Martin was a full participant in practice each day this week is a sign that he will be activated ahead of the game on Sunday.
