The Chicago Bears conducted a walkthrough practice on Wednesday given the injuries that were sustained during the team's Week 8 loss to the Washington Commanders. In confirmation of the reason why the Bears did not have a normal practice on Wednesday, the first injury report for their Week 9 game against the Arizona Cardinals is a troubling sight.

With this first injury report for the game against the Cardinals, we now have confirmation of the reason why Tyrique Stevenson will not be benched as some false-sense of punishment to appease the boomers sitting on their couch on Sundays.

First Chicago Bears injury report for Week 9

A healthy Jayden Daniels probably would have exposed a Bears' secondary that was without Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker last Sunday. For Brisker, it is concerning that he has yet to be cleared from concussion protocol after suffering a concussion in the team's Week 5 game against the Carolina Panthers. As for Gordon, his presence was missed on Sunday, and if he is unable to play this week, it's not an ideal scenario, considering Kyler Murray's ability to make plays with his feet.

The other telling sign from the Bears' first Week 9 injury report is that the team may need to shuffle their offensive line. While Braxton Jones' knee injury wasn't deemed serious, there is a sense that it could be a week-to-week timeline instead of day-to-day. With Kiran Amegadjie also not practicing, it seems that the Bears may need a starting left tackle for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Assuming Larry Borom is activated from IR prior to the game, he could immediately be inserted as the team's left tackle. Another scenario could see Matt Pryor shift to left tackle if Ryan Bates is activated prior to Sunday.

There isn't a real concern for Montez Sweat yet, as he has been frequently listed on the Bears' injury reports this season, but he was noticeably banged up on Sunday.
