It has been a chaotic few days for the Chicago Bears coming off their Week 2 loss to the MInnesota Vikings. Whether we're talking takeaways from the loss itself or quarterback injuries like Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent, there's almost too much going on.
There's so much going on with the Bears, and around the league, that some fans may not know exactly what's happening with a few of the guys who used to play in Chicago.
Focusing on some of the more recent former Bears players, we check in on several names and how they've fared through two weeks.
Some former Chicago Bears are making Ryan Poles re-think his decisions, while others, not so much
Gervon Dexter Sr., DT, Atlanta Falcons
We've covered him recently, but Gervon Dexter Sr. is thriving in Atlanta thus far. Yes, the Falcons have been bad. Yes, they have been down.
However, do we not think this Bears defensive line could use Dexter at this point?
Through two games, Dexter has eight quarterback pressures which is tied for second among all interior defensive linemen. He also has a sack and six quarterback hurries.
Jaquan Brisker, S, Pittsburgh Steelers
If anyone was wondering, he's still the same guy.

The context: Tommy and I discussed Brisker when he signed in Pittsburgh earlier this offseason, and he's precisely the guy I painted him to be.
In Week 1, Brisker appeared to have had a strong showing. He even began the season with an interception. But, in Week 2, he played pretty poorly. He gave up four receptions on four targets in coverage for 68 yards.
Olamide Zaccheaus, WR, Atlanta Falcons
Last season, Bears fans saw Zaccheaus somehow on the field way more often than he should have been, while absorbing far more targets than he should have been. Drops were a pain point. Fans kept asking why he was on the field.
This season, it appears the Falcons have learned. He's only been on the field for 37 percent of snaps and has two receptions on four targets for just eight yards.
Tremaine Edmunds, LB, New York Giants
In short, Tremaine Edmunds has been exactly what many of us saw in Chicago. As a Giant, he has allowed all nine targets to be completed that have come his way, and one of them went for a touchdown.
David Montgomery, RB, Houston Texans
The Texans' offensive line has been a hot topic for a few years now. Through two games, C.J. Stroud looks like he's actually taken a step forward after some heavy criticism. But, the run game has suffered.
Montgomery only has 70 yards on 26 carries, but he's scored two times on the ground. He does have five recpetions for 33 yards and a score, though, as well.
He'll continue to be the bell cow in Houston, and hopefully, the offensive line can start giving him a boost and opening some holes because, so far, that isn't happening.
Keenan Allen, WR, Indianapolis Colts
Allen only spent one season with the Bears, but he was an important part of that 2024 offense in what was a forgettable year, all-around.
So far with the Colts, though, Allen looks like a shell of his former self. It hasn't looked good for Allen. In short, he looks like he's nearing the end, unfortunately.
Allen has seven receptions on 11 targets for just 37 yards and no scores through two games.
Coleman Shelton, C, Los Angeles Rams
Say what you want about how Shelton may look on film (PFF doesn't like him much through two games) but Shelton benefits from an offensive genius in Sean McVay and a very smart quarterback right behind him.
So far through two games, Shelton has zero penalties, zero sacks allowed and only one pressure allowed.
Khyiris Tonga, DT, Kansas City Chiefs
One of the more frustrating "what ifs" in recent years, the Bears chose to let Khyiris Tonga go instead of helping further develop him and be by his side for his ascension. Tonga, now with the Chiefs, has been a solid part of their defensive front.
His tenacity and strength pops off the screen, still, when watching. He's even been involved on offense as a fullback at times, which has been fun to watch.

The Bears could use him on their defensive line, no doubt.
