Even with former players heading to television, they too often cannot hide their bias and still support their old teams.
Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings had that moment when he appeared on the FS1 show "First Things First" when the panel discussed the upcoming Week 14 game between the Chicago Bears and Packers. After Danny Parkins gave his examination of the Bears' chances against the Packers, he asked Jennings and Willie Colon if Green Bay should be scared to play the Bears. Jennings had a quick response.
"No. Not at all."
Colon wasn't too pleased with that response from Jennings.
"I hate how you downplaying this. This man just gave you a hell of a monologue. He's tell you the Bears have arrived and you give me 'Ah.'"
Jennings defended his stance as he gave a ridiculous reason for his answer.
"When you've sat on this side and you listen to little brother talk about how good he's gotten, how much he's improved, 'I'm going to beat you this time,' you feel the same exact way. You look at him and say, 'just wait till the game. Period."
People can keep sleeping on the Bears if they want
There are still some in the media who refuse to acknowledge that the Bears are for real and can compete in the NFC. Many of the betting odds do not include Chicago near the top five as the most likely to win the Super Bowl.
Chicago enters Week 14 at 9-3 while sitting on top of the NFC North and NFC. The Bears have won nine of the last 10 games, including two consecutive wins against teams that had winning records at the time they played: the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Green Bay has been great in the series against the Bears, unfortunately, going 26-5 since 2010. Chicago did win their last matchup together, though, in last season's final game.

Redemption is on the minds of Bears fans, who want to make it known that they are for real (again) and silence the doubters like Jennings.
