Over the next month, first-year head coach Ben Johnson and general manager Ryan Poles will examine the Chicago Bears' current roster as they establish the blueprint for their offseason.
Following the Philadelphia Eagles' dominating victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on Sunday, it's become clear that the Bears will need to address their weaknesses in the trenches if they are going to be capable of not only reaching the playoffs but having success once there.
Of course, before Johnson and Poles reach that point, they must evaluate the impending free agents the Bears have this offseason.

Two of the keys names on that list are Keenan Allen and Teven Jenkins.
For Allen, it's difficult to envision a scenario where he returns to the Bears next season. First and foremost, the Bears need Rome Odunze to have a more defined role in Ben Johnson's offense. Odunze's rookie season wasn't bad but he failed to provide the type of impact the Bears may have been expecting for being a wide receiver selected within the first 10 picks of the draft. It's possible that the Bears add a wide receiver this offseason but paying for Allen's return doesn't seem all that likely.
As for Jenkins, his departure, along with that of Coleman Shelton and Matt Pryor, will start what is the overhaul of the Bears' offensive line. It's very possible that the Bears, depending on who is available when they are on the clock in the 2025 NFL Draft, enter next offseason with four new offensive linemen. Even if Braxton Jones returns as the starting left tackle, it's all but inevitable that the Bears will have a new center with two new guards next to him.
