The 2025 season will be one the Chicago Bears will remember for a long time, but they certainly hope it goes up from here.
They finished the season with an 11-6 record, winners of the NFC North, and won a playoff game. Bears chairman and owner George McCaskey spoke at the NFL owners meeting last week, where he shared his thoughts on last season and looked forward to the 2026 campaign.
"It was a great run," McCaskey said via NFL.com. "It was a miraculous run. Surreal run. But ultimately, we fell short of our goal. The goal is to win the Super Bowl. So there's some more work to be done. I think we have a good core of players. They fight like hell for each other. They fight like hell for their coach. I think they're confident that he will find some way for them to win, and that's a great and elusive ingredient in our great game. He's already said that complacency is not going to be an issue. What do we have to be complacent about? We haven't achieved our goal."
George McCaskey says the truth about the Bears
All of last season was fun and special, but now it's time for the Bears to take the next step in becoming a legitimate contender. They need to make another run in the playoffs and get the franchise to where it should be.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson is clearly the right man for the job. He has completely changed the culture of the franchise from losing for so many years to now being expected to win most of their games.
There are areas of the roster that Johnson and general manager Ryan Poles need to upgrade, but overall, it is built for the long haul. Young players like Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, Kyle Monanagai, Colston Loveland, and Coby Bryant are the new faces and leaders on the team that'll have to get the job done.

It might take some time to get there, but this Bears team feels like one that could see themselves in the Super Bowl in the next year or two.
