Chicago Bears fans are hanging on to hope that they can keep their team in Illinois, but those hopes dwindle by the day.

FOX 59 and CBS 4 reporter Hannah Adamson reported that the Indiana House passed the new bill to have the Bears build their new stadium in Hammond with a vote of 95-4. It should be clear that this isn't saying that the move is 100%, but the option is officially on the table for the Bears.

This happened a week after a meeting in Illinois was cancelled to discuss their state bill regarding the Bears' new stadium to be built in Arlington Heights. After the meeting was called, Indiana Governor Mike Braun and the Bears released statements expressing their intent to work together to make Indiana a potential location for their new stadium.

Bears now have Indiana as an official location possibility

Bears fans were hoping this was some kind of bad dream and the franchise would stick around. Well, it's not certain they will move, and there's still hope that something will change in Illinois.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has made it clear he wants to fight to keep the Bears in the state, but has been facing pushback from the House and Senate. This all comes down to how much the Bears are willing to pay for the new stadium versus what the taxpayers are willing to pay.

Indiana came to the table with the Bears willing to play $2 billion, while the rest will be handled by the state. That is where the holdup was with Illinois: they didn't want taxpayers to pay too much for the stadium while also keeping ticket prices the same.

Illinois is going to do whatever it takes to make something happen with keeping the Bears in the state. Indiana is not going to make it easy on them, though.
