Ever since they traded away DJ Moore and lost Olamide Zaccheaus in free agency, the Chicago Bears now have some glaring concerns with their WR3 position.
Rome Odunze and Luther Burden are going to make great top two receivers, but they have to find somebody who can fill in as the slot receiver. The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs appeared on 104.3 The Score and gave his thoughts on a receiver that might be able to jump into the starting lineup right now: Jahdae Walker.
“You got to have some competition there. But they ended the season feeling pretty good about him. I don’t know that you need a lot of household names [signed going forward].”
Bears could look at Jahdae Walker as the new slot receiver
Walker was the Bears' training camp darling of last year as he went from being an undrafted rookie out of Texas A&M to scoring two game-winning touchdowns in the preseason to make the roster. In nine games last season, he caught six passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns, with four of those six catches going for first downs.
The shining moment for Walker came last year in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers, when he picked up more playing time with Oduzne's injury. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams connected with Walker for the game-tying touchdown with over 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Chicago ended up winning the game in overtime 22-16 with a Williams game-winning passing score to Moore.
There is still a chance the Bears could use the NFL Draft to find a WR3, but Walker has shown enough to be a speedy option in the slot. Chicago will add talent at receiver as they rebuild after the two losses.

Walker is a nice talent and could very much be in for a massive 2026 season.
