It will come as no surprise to any Chicago Bears fan to find out that safety Jaquan Brisker is officially not going to return to the Windy City in 2026.

That's because NFL insider Mike Garafolo reports that Brisker is going to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. While the details of the deal have not come out, Brisker exits the Bears after four seasons with the team.

Brisker has been a Day 1 starter for the Bears as he was a former second-round pick of the team. In 52 career games, he racked up 342 tackles, 21 pass deflections, 12 tackles for loss, 11 quarterback hits, seven sacks, four interceptions, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

Brisker was a solid starter for the Bears over the years. It was the 2024 season that troubled the fan base after he suffered a bad concussion that knocked him out of 12 games that season.

Last year, he played decently, but struggled to be consistent in coverage throughout the season. He is a solid tackler and a starter in this league, though he needs some coaching.

The Bears are pretty much in rebuild mode with half of the secondary, as they have now lost all four key starters from last year's team. Guys like Kevin Byard (New England Patriots), Nahshon Wright (New York Jets), and C.J. Gardner-Johnson (Buffalo Bills) have all found new homes, as well as Brisker.

This was always expected as the Bears did not make any efforts to sign Brisker and were looking to replace him. So far, they have signed former Seattle Seahawks safety Coby Bryant to be one of the starters. Chicago could very well look at the NFL Draft to find the other starter.

Brisker had some solid years in his so-far young career, but it was time for the Bears to move on and bring in some new players.
