At this point, it feels like every single Bears fan is on the same page about who should be the next coach. After a literally lifetime of underwhelming coaches in Chicago, the Bears have the opportunity to – in theory at least – break their habit of hiring underwhelming coaches by bringing in Lions' offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.
RELATED: It took Ben Johnson one play in Divisional Round to prove why the Bears need him
Johnson's long been considered one of the best coaching candidates in recent memory, and is certainly the top option for teams looking this offseason. There's a reason why he's already interviewed with a half-dozen teams, and there's a reason Tom Brady is maybe, perhaps, kinda tampering, just a little, to get him to take the Raiders job.
So despite every 65 year old Chicago sportswriter's loudest pleas, the Bears seem like they're finally set on not hiring a defensive-minded coach who played for them during the 80's. Even the Bears' own players – on defense! – want an offensive-minded coach running the show in Halas Hall. Case in point: Jaquan Brisker Took To Twitter on Sunday to voice that exact opinion.
Jaquan Brisker says what basically every single Bears fan is thinking
One of us! One of us! One of us! I cannot think of a more succinct argument to sum up how every single Bears fan in the Chicagoland area feels about the coaching search. This is a savvy answer from Brisker, too: he obviously can't really get into specific names, but it's hard to miss the hint here. Caleb Williams did more or less the same thing recently when asked about what type of coach he'd like to see in Chicago next.
The good news is that everyone seems to be in agreement: scoring points is good, and having a coach who knows how to score points is even better. Hopefully the 250-person Avengers team/hiring committee that George McCaskey and Kevin Warren put together feels the same way.
