The biggest fear that Chicago Bears fans had entering the 2024 NFL season was that the team's quarterback decision would prove to have been the wrong decision.

The last time that the Bears were in a position to take the first quarterback in a draft, the team traded up with the San Francisco 49ers to select Mitch Trubisky with the second-overall selection in the 2017 draft. Of course, the quarterback that the Bears left on the board was Patrick Mahomes.

As the Bears went about the draft process for last year's draft, it was clear that the team was going to take Caleb Williams with the first-overall selection. Taken one spot behind Williams was Jayden Daniels by the Washington Commanders.

Considering Daniels' hot start to the season, many have questioned if the Bears' vetting process of the quarterback class in last year's draft was sound. While Williams has improved each week, Daniels' performance throughout each week this season has led to some believing the rookie should be in the mix for MVP consideration.

The Bears and Williams had a chance to silence the skepticism over their decision on Sunday against the Washington Commanders.

During the first half of the game, Daniels seemed to remind Bears fans of the feeling of the team getting the quarterback decision wrong once again.

Despite looking like he was going to miss Sunday's game with a rib injury, Daniels not only started for the Commanders but has looked like the better of the two rookie quarterbacks. During the first half of the game, Daniels totaled over 150 passing yards while adding over 30 yards on the ground.

Meanwhile, Williams struggled to find consistency, totaling only 33 passing yards on 3 completions. Williams did have 29 rushing yards in the first half, which was more attributed to the offensive line breaking down than it was designed quarterback scrambles.
