It might have been far from a perfect performance for the Chicago Bears in their Week 10 24-20 win over the New York Giants, but the Windy City's favorite team continues to win for one reason: Caleb Williams.
Once again, it's another game where Williams had an up-and-down first three quarters, as he didn't score a touchdown going into the fourth quarter. The offense only managed 10 points and struggled to capitalize on the defense's weaknesses, resulting in turnovers.
In the fourth quarter, though, Williams came through in the clutch with his best Superman impression with a passing touchdown and the game-winning rushing score. Bears safety Kevin Byard said after the game that the team has grown accustomed to Williams delivering in the final moments of the game.
"I’ve seen it too many times. When the game is on the line and we need him to make a play, he has ice in his veins. I think it’s just the maturation, the growth that he’s been showing, and the greatness that he has. I mean, he thrives in those scenarios. He doesn’t flinch at all. We know if the game is close, he’s going to make it happen for us."
Williams is a winner, and his haters couldn't...well....hate it more
In the Giants game, Williams finished with 20 completions out of 36 passes for 220 yards and one touchdown to Rome Odunze in the fourth quarter. He added 63 rushing yards and his game-winning score with under two minutes left in the game.
The inaccuracies were not as severe as those of receivers like Olamide Zaccheaus , who had some struggles with their three drops in the game, but it's still a work in progress for Williams. Bears fans can find solace in knowing that he is improving game after game.
One aspect of Williams' game that is at least consistent is his ability to find ways to win when the Bears have their backs against the wall. He's now led four game-winning drives this season. If fans include Chicago's win over the Green Bay Packers last year, that would be five game-winning drives in the last six wins for Williams.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson can teach a lot of things to Williams, including throwing technique and decision-making, but the intangibles of winning games in clutch situations? That can't be taught. It's a natural ability that Williams has.
