Kyler Gordon's postgame interview proves Bears have lost all faith in Matt Eberflus

At this point in the Bears' season, the most interesting part of game day is the postgame locker room media. The Bears are a bad football team, and what they do on the field is (mostly) unsurprising. Outside of the occasional sublime Caleb Williams throw, we aren't learning a whole lot about them anymore.

What we are still learning about, though, is how over Matt Eberflus the whole team is. Each week brings a fun ("fun") new interview to try and parse through, most of which heavily hint that the Bears just straight up don't really buy into him anymore. Some are more juicy than others, but they all say the same thing.

This week's interview comes courtesy of cornerback Kyler Gordon. Shortly after the Bears' 23-20 loss – their 5th straight – Gordon was asked why the Bears continue to falter in late game situations. His answer – or perhaps more accurately, his non-answer – was so awkward that it physically made me cringe. It won't tell you anything you don't already know, but it will make you feel extremely uncomfortable! And really, isn't that what you want from your postgame blogs? To feel worse about your favorite football team in every way? Happy Thanksgiving!

Kyler Gordon's "no-comment" speaks volumes about the Bears' faith in Matt Eberflus

"Next question," Gordon said after an uncomfortably long pause. "No comment."

Look, I'm not someone who typically buys into answers like this, but at this point, how can you not? Is that not the most obvious side-eye and depressed laugh you've ever seen? He literally shakes his head while staring off into the distance for, like, 10 whole seconds before laughing through his no comment. Honestly, the only less subtle thing he could have done was openly advocate for Eberflus' firing. If your players are coming off gut-punch losses by shrugging it off with the implication that it's just Eberflus being Eberflus, you've lost the locker room. It's gone. And maybe it happened way earlier in the season, but if not, it definitely happened on Thursday.

He's not going to get fired before the season ends, so there's no real point in speculating about that. Plus why would you want to? The Bears' game is over, and it can't hurt anyone anymore. Now you can show this clip to all your relatives and bond over how not thankful you are for the Bears. So really, thank you, Matt Eberflus, for bringing every family a little closer today.
