If there was the perfect matchup to step away from the family for three hours on a holiday, the NFL just delivered it to the Chicago Bears fan base.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported the Bears are playing host to the Green Bay Packers on Christmas Day. The game is set to kick off at 12:00 pm CST on Netflix.

No Bears fans need any introductions to this rivalry or to what it was like last year, when the two teams played each other three times. Chicago won two out of three against Green Bay, including completing two comebacks to win the last two matchups against them.

Bears set to play the Packers on Christmas Day

This is the first confirmed date for the Bears to play the Packers, as the rivalry has certainly heated up and become one of the NFL's best. Green Bay had owned the series for years, but Bears head coach Ben Johnson has brought new life into the rivalry that has not been seen before.

Besides the two wins against Green Bay, Johnson has helped spark controversy with actions that have upset Packers fans. One being his opening press conference, where he said he would enjoy beating Packers head coach Matt LeFleur twice a year, and screaming "f*** the Packers" in the locker room after one of the wins.

While new-school people won't like it, old-school fans are loving Johnson for bringing the rivalry back to where it should be. The Bears fan base now enjoys playing the Packers more since the team has turned things around and is competitive against them.
